The Texas Capital Area Chapter hosted a general membership meeting at Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas. Our guest speaker was Kenneth Wisian, Ph.D/Major General USAF (Retired). Dr. Wisian is the Associate Director, Bureau of Economic Geology, Jackson School of Geo-science, The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Wisian is also a retired Major General (USAF) with a very distinguished military career serving as the Commander, 147th Reconnaissane Wing and Assistant Adjutant General - Air for the Texas National Guard.
21 June 2023 Chapter President Attends Defense Innovation & Future of Armor Formations Reception

Chapter President, COL (Ret) Garry Patterson attended the Defense Innovation & Future of Armor Formations reception sponsored by one of our chapter community partners, BAE Systems.
COL (Ret) Chris Doneski, our chapter VP for Industry Outreach who also serves as the Director, Army Programs, Army Futures Command, US DOD Customer Requirements and Advocacy for BAE Systems, Electronic Systems was the coordinator for this reception and forum.
17 June 2023 MG (Ret) Robert Halverson Receives Award
Georgetown, Texas
Past President, MG (Ret) Robert Halverson of the Texas Capital Area Chapter was awarded the Military Order of World Wars Silver Patrick Henry Medal at the Summer Chapter Banquet. General Halverson represents our AUSA chapter with the Georgetown Military Order of World Wars chapter.
14 June 23 General Membership Meeting and Army Birthday Celebration

The Texas Capital Area Chapter conducted a general membership meeting at Camp Mabry with members of the Texas Army National Guard. This meeting was well attended with more than 200 attending.
Our general meeting was held in conjunction with the celebration of the 248th US Army Birthday. Guest speaker was MG Ronald "Win" Burkett, the Commanding General of the 36th Infantry Division, TXARNG.
14 June 2023 TCAC Represented at AFC Army Birthday - Texas State Capital

The Army Futures Command set up a celebratory cake cutting ceremony at the Texas Capitol Building in Austin, Texas to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 248th Birthday. An excited crowd was in attendance with special remarks from Texas Senator Brian Birdwell, GEN James E. Rainey, Commanding General, Army Futures Command, and CSM Brian A. Hester, Command Sergeant Major, Army Futures Command.
13 June 2023 TCAC Represented at AFC Army Birthday/Golf Event

The Texas Capital Area Chapter joined with Army Futures Command to begin the celebration of the US Army's 248th Birthday with a USA Birthday Golf Tournament held at the Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin, Texas. Several members of our chapter and executive committee participated in this golf tournament to celebrate our Army.

Our chapter president, COL (Ret) Garry Patterson, and our VP for Industry Outreach, COL (Ret) Brian Cook, attended a special event to highlight new and innovative building construction for the Texas Army National Guard at Camp Mabry.

On 10 May 2023, our VP/Liaison Officer for Army Futures Command, COL (R) Jim Orbock, made a presentation during the JROTC Awards ceremony for Stoney Pointe High School, Round Rock, TX.
COL Orbock provided comments and recognized the outstanding junior cadet with the AUSA Academic & Leadership Award. The most deserving cadet for the award of honor was Junior Cadet Alvin Le. Cadet Le received a medal set and an award certificate from AUSA Texas Capital Area Chapter.
