20 April 2024 Chapter Represented at Bobcat Days - Texas State University

The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Texas Capital Area Chapter Vice President for University Programs, David Berlad, attended Bobcat Day at Texas State University. Bobcat Days are an exciting open house event where prospective students can explore the beautiful Texas State University campus and learn about academic programs, financial aid, housing, the Army ROTC, Veteran Opportunities and more.

17 April 2024 Awards Ceremony at University of Texas ROTC Military Ball

Austin, Texas

Chapter president, COL (Ret) Garry D. Patterson, attended the University of Texas at Austin ROTC Military Ball. The UT ROTC Military Ball was held at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center on the University of Texas at Austin campus. The event was a formal black-tie event with the cadets from the ROTC program and their dates enjoying an excellent dining experience during an official military ball and awards ceremony.

10 April 2024 MG(R) Robert L Halverson Gives Graduation Address at Ft. Hauchuca

Fort Huachuca, AZ

Texas Capital Area Chapter Immediate Past Chapter President, MG (Ret) Robert L. Halverson, traveled to Fort Huachuca, AZ to be the key note speaker at the US Army Military Intelligence Officer Career course.

06 April 2024 Ride On Center for Kids Sponsorship and Event

Georgetown, Texas

Immediate Past Chapter President MG (ret) Bob Halverson represented the Texas Capital Area Chapter at a planning meeting to support a major fundraising event for Ride On Center for Kids (ROCK) in Georgetown Texas. The sole major fundraiser (Barn Dance) for the ROCK was held on April 6 at their facility and was attended by almost 800 people. Live auction and silent auction items were sold and direct donations accepted. Live entertainment and dancing provided a most enjoyable event.

06 April 2024 Graduation and Commissioning Ceremony OCS Class #67

Austin, Texas

Mike Zizza, VP for ROTC/OCS, presented a certificate of excellence and a gift engraved pocket knife to the Distinguished Honor Graduate, 2LT Dominque Anderson, during the award ceremony at the graduation and commissioning ceremony of the Class #67 of the Texas Army National Guard Officer Candidate School.

03 April 2024 General Membership Meeting Guest Speaker COL (Ret) Daniel Morgan

The Texas Capital Area Chapter conducted a general membership meeting at Camp Mabry in their headquarters auditorium.

Our guest speaker was COL (Ret) Daniel S. Morgan, Senior Director for Business Operations and Planning for Teledyne FLIR Defense. COL Morgan is also a highly regarded author. He is the author of Chasing the White Rabbit: Lessons from the Battlefield to the Boardroom and Black Hearts and Painted Gun: A Battalion’s Journey into Iraq’s Triangle of Death, as well as author of numerous articles on policy and defense.

22-23 March 2024 National Guard Association of Texas 65th Conference

Round Rock, Texas

The Texas Capital Area Chapter manned a membership and information booth at the National Guard Association of Texas 65th Annual conference. The conference was held at the Kalahari Resorts & Convention Center in Round Rock, Texas. The conference was attended by more than 750 personnel with approximately 50 vendors providing displays in the exhibit hall.
