On 1 March 2023, the Texas Capital Area Chapter hosted its monthly general membership meeting at the Headquarters Bldg 8 auditorium of the Texas National Guard at Camp Mabry, Austin. We were delighted to have Mary Vrbanac, Senior Education Specialist for the Texas Military Department stationed at Camp Mabry, Austin, TX as our guest speaker. She spoke on the various education programs and benefits available to the soldiers of the Texas Army National Guard. The presentation was well received by all in attendance.

Army Futures Command
Texas Capital Area Chapter was proud to be represented at the presentation of the MG Harold J. Greene Award ceremony today.
The Major General Harold J. Greene Award is an Army writing competition focused on improving Army acquisition. The competition was established in 2014 to encourage all individuals to share their ideas, insight and experiences for improving Army acquisition. Authors may submit articles in one of four categories: lessons learned, innovation, future operations, or acquisition reform.
The Texas Capital Area Chapter was recognized in the AUSA Extra newsletter on 19 Jan 23, page 6.

The Texas Capital Area Chapter supported the City of Manor, Texas with the formal dedication of a Veterans Memorial Wall in honor of Veterans from their community near Austin, Texas. This is the second year that our chapter has provided the guest speaker and co-sponsored this important ceremony. This year the City of Manor asked our chapter to help formally dedicate a memorial wall that they had constructed along with a gazebo in the city park. This was a real honor for our chapter to support this awesome ceremony.
