Immediate Past Chapter President MG (ret) Bob Halverson represented the Texas Capital Area Chapter at a planning meeting to support a major fundraising event for Ride On Center for Kids (ROCK) in Georgetown Texas. The sole major fundraiser (Barn Dance) for the ROCK was held on April 6 at their facility and was attended by almost 800 people. Live auction and silent auction items were sold and direct donations accepted. Live entertainment and dancing provided a most enjoyable event.

The ROCK is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides equine assisted services to children, adults, and veterans with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. ROCK's participants see improvements in most aspects of their lives - from muscle tone, strength, flexibility and balance to cognitive, behavioral, communication and emotional improvements. ROCK is located on 60+ beautiful acres in Georgetown, TX. ROCK also offers Veterans programs which partners the veteran with horses and veteran support volunteers. The goal of this program is to improve the lives of servicemen and women who have suffered injury in the line of duty, helping them adjust physically and emotionally to their post war-lives. The cost for the veterans and service members to participate in three 8-week sessions is 100% covered through fundraising efforts and grants.

The Texas Capital Area Chapter plans to provide sponsorship to support this amazing organization in helping disabled children and veterans in our community.
