Community Partner - Bell Helicopter - Recognized 2 March 2022

The President of the chapter, COL (Ret) Garry D. Patterson, recognized one of our Community Partners (Bell Helicopter), Austin for their continued sponsorship and support as a Platinum Sponsor at our 2 March 2022 General Membership Meeting. A certificate was presented to Mr. John White, Business Development Manager for the Austin office. 

AUSA AFC Distinguished Speaker Series - Community Partner Event 22 Feb 2022

On the behalf of our Austin community partner team, we would like to invite you to our next distinguished speaker series session with COL Jay Wisham, Executive Director of the Army Applications Lab and COL Tim Sugars, Director of Program Integration at Army Futures Command.  They will be providing key insights and updates on Army Innovation.  We are very fortunate to have these two great leaders sharing how they and their teams are driving innovation and developing technology for our Warfighters!

Chapter Christmas Gift Distribution - Army Futures Command, Software Factory

The AUSA Texas Capital Area Chapter is proud to support the children of soldiers assigned to the Army Futures Command, Software Factory at the Austin Community College downtown campus.

Our chapter distributed approximately fifty gifts to soldiers to share with their children during this Christmas and Holiday Season.  This gift distribution was a part of the Texas Capital Area Chapter Family Program to support Army families in our area.  It was a great success and appreciated by the personnel assigned to Army Futures Command, Software Factory.

Army/Navy Game Watch Party - Great Success!

Everyone had a great time at the Army/Navy Watch party on Saturday, 11 Dec 21!

Thanks to our sponsors, the West Point Society, The Blind Pig Pub and the Navy Federal Credit Union in Norfolk, VA - Wayne D. Truxillo for making this happen!

The event was well attended with about 350 in attendance and we served 70 pizzas to our guests.. Unfortunately Navy beat Army 17-13.

AUSA TX Capital Area Chapter Celebrates National Guard's 385th Birthday

The Texas Capital Area Chapter held their General Membership Meeting and celebrated the National Guard's 385th birthday at Camp Mabry today at noon.

During the meeting, Col. (Ret.) Garry D. Patterson recognized Northrop Grumman and IBM (Community Partners), the TMD Family Support Group was provided a $3,500 check to help children during the holiday's, and MG Tracy Norris, Adjutant General of Texas, provided the remarks to some 30+ attendees. Everyone enjoyed birthday cake after the meeting.

GREEN LIGHT A VET

Veterans Day -> Memorial Day Green Light a Vet Program

A green porch light is a symbol of appreciation for US military veterans. Though some people may leave a green porch light on year round to express their support, many choose to use this colored bulb around Veteran's Day, which is celebrated on November 11th and Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday of May.

ICON Presentation today was very informative and exciting!

Today's presentation by Mr. Brendan O'Donoghue from ICON technologies was very informative and exciting! ICON is working is 3 major sectors: Housing, the Department of Defense and NASA.  Their technology is affordable, sustainable and readily available. Not only do they print houses and buildings, but they make their own 3D printers and proprietary materials used in the printing process.
