Chapter president, COL (R) Garry Patterson, attended the US Army Futures Command ceremony to honor the Best Warrior/Squad/NCO for 2023 at the Army Futures Command Headquarters.

On 20 April 2023, our chapter president, COL (Ret) Garry D. Patterson, attended the award ceremony for the Junior Army ROTC Program at John Connally High School in Pflugerville, TX. 

12 April 2023 Camp Mabry Graduation Ceremony Attended

Austin, Texas

Nancy Berlad, VP for Social Media for the Texas Capital Area Chapter represented the chapter at a graduation ceremony at Camp Mabry on 12 April 2023.

The class (Project Management Certificate Program) was taught by The University of Texas at Austin. Each student attending the class received a certificate from UT and is prepared to sit for the PMP exam. Refreshments were enjoyed by everyone attending.

01 April 2023 TXARNG Best Warrior Awards Banquet

COL (R) John Willis, Texas Capital Area Chapter Treasurer, attended the TXARNG Best Warrior Awards Banquet at the Pine Forest Golf Course in Bastrop, Texas.

COL (R) Willis presented AUSA coins to TXARNG Best Warriors SFC Ben Theiring and SPC Dylan Waite.

05 April 2023 General Membership Meeting

Austin, TX

AUSA chapter members, guests, and local area veterans are cordially invited to the Association of the United States Army, Texas Capital Area Chapter general membership meeting on 05 April 2023. 

Due to a scheduling conflict, Command Sergeant Major Brian A. Hester, the CSM for Army Futures Command in Austin, Texas will be unable to present.

LTG Richard "Ross" Coffman, Deputy Commanding General of Army Futures Command will be the guest speaker. He will provide an update on the operations and accomplishments of the Army Futures Command. 

Vietnam War Veterans Day Event 29 March 2023

MG (ret) Robert Halverson, Past President of the Texas Capital Area Chapter, joined Chapter 1919 Purple Heart Veterans in a luncheon to honor Vietnam Veterans on Vietnam Veterans Day.  The group also gathered with another loosely organized group of Veterans who have taken on the name of Brothers From Another Mother, (BFAM).  This group gathers monthly for lunch and enjoys the company of each other.  The owner of the restaurant who spoke with the group several times during the luncheon is an ardent supporter of veterans and their families.
