Region IV Spring Leaders Training Conference April 29, 2022 - Dinner

Austin, TX 29 April 2022

Attendees of the AUSA Region IV Spring Leaders Training Conference attended a barbeque dinner at the Legendary County Line on the Lake in Austin Friday evening 29 April 2022.

The event consisted of a selection of ribs, brisket, turkey, chicken and sausage as well as potato salad, beans and coleslaw.  Beverages were also served.

Everyone in attendance left full and had a great time!

the Software Factory.

Texas Capital Area Chapter hosted the AUSA Region IV Spring Leaders Training Conference at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. Training began at 0830 hrs in the Pecos Room.

Attending the training were members from Region IV chapters and guest speakers including Gus Rodriguez, General Jack Haley, VP AUSA, LC Keith W. Wilson, US Army Regional Director, South, Northeast and Europe, JP Hogan, 
COL (R) Scott Halstead, COL LaTonya Jordan, CMDR, 5th Recruiting Brigade, COL Stephen Ruth, USCC, Strategic Officer Recruiting Detachment.

Region IV Spring Leaders Training Conference April 28-30, 2022

AUSA Texas Capital Area Chapter was honored to host the Region IV Spring Leaders Training Conference at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. The opening reception was Thursday evening 28 April 22 in the Guadalupe Room.  
Light snacks and beverages were enjoyed by everyone. 

AUSA - Texas Capital Area Chapter Represented at Promotion Ceremony of CW3 Jessica Patterson

Representing the AUSA - Texas Capital Area Chapter COL (Ret) Garry D Patterson and wife Mrs. Sharon Patterson attended the promotion ceremony of their daughter-in-law, CW3 Jessica Patterson.  

The promotion ceremony took place at the Texas Military Forces Museum.

Remarks were given by CW5 Brown of the Texas Military Department and the pinning was performed by MAJ (Ret) Jacob Patterson, the son of COL (Ret) Patterson and Mrs. Patterson.

AUSA-Texas Capital Area Chapter Represented at Retirement of CSM John Sampa

Representing the AUSA- Texas Capital Area Chapter were COL (Ret) Garry D. Patterson and his wife, Mrs. Sharon Patterson and MG (Ret) Robert Halverson and his wife Mrs. Johanna Halverson at the retirement ceremony of CSM John Sampa on Saturday, 23 April 2022 at the Texas State Capital.

CSM John Sampa retired from the National Guard after 35 years of service.  CSM Sampa is a Texas Army National Guardsmen and his final assignment was Command Sergeant Major of the National Guard assigned to National Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C.  

AUSA AFC Defense Innovation Social 19 April 22

AUSA Texas Capital Area Chapter Community Partners and members of the Executive Committee attended a social at the Capital Factory to help celebrate those attending VERTEX | Energy hosted by the Army Applications Laboratory. The social was a great opportunity for our Community Partners to network at the end of the first day of interesting sessions and discussions.

TX Capital Area Chapter represented at TXARNG OCS Class 65 Ceremonies

The Texas Capital Area Chapter of AUSA was represented at the TXARNG OCS Class 65 ceremonies on Friday, April 8, 2022 and Saturday April 9, 2022.

COL (Ret) Garry D. Patterson, Chapter President, gave a presentation to the graduating class Friday afternoon, 8 April 2022  at 
Camp Mabry in the Regional Training Institute Academy auditorium.  After the presentation, COL (Ret) Patterson highlighted the goals and objectives of AUSA chapter membership.

MG Tracy Norris and TMD Recognized for Support of the Texas Capital Area Chapter

Major General Tracy Norris, the Texas Adjutant General of the Texas National Guard was presented with a certificate for the continuous thirty years of support of the Texas Capital Area Chapter at our 2 March 2022 General Membership Meeting by President COL (Ret) Garry D. Patterson.  

The Texas Military Department has provided facilities for our chapter meetings for the past thirty years.  (1992-2022).
