Round Rock, Texas

The Texas Capital Area Chapter manned a membership and information booth at the National Guard Association of Texas 65th Annual conference. The conference was held at the Kalahari Resorts & Convention Center in Round Rock, Texas. The conference was attended by more than 750 personnel with approximately 50 vendors providing displays in the exhibit hall.

Our chapter manned a booth and provided information about AUSA and our Texas Capital Area Chapter to guests during the three-day conference. We were able to communicate the goals of AUSA and provide membership and benefit information to those attending the conference. Our chapter President, COL (Ret) Garry Patterson also attended the Army Breakout session and was accompanied by MG (Ret) Robert Halverson at the NGAT General Meeting Session where the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, was the keynote speaker.

Our presence at this outstanding event was most successful and we were able to add to our membership and provide current members of AUSA details about the numerous benefits of their membership. A number of our Community Partners were also participating with exhibit booths at this conference. This provided an opportunity for our chapter leadership to share time and meeting with these community partners from Bell Helicopter, The University of Texas at Austin - Extended Campus, and USAA. This was an excellent opportunity to share time with another outstanding military service organization and support the members of the Texas Army National Guard.
