A new Association of the U.S. Army event focused on the Army’s warfighters will feature presentations from the service’s top leaders and the new commanding general of Army Forces Command.

The inaugural AUSA Warfighter Summit and Exposition will take place July 27–28 at the Crown Complex near Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The two-day, in-person summit is focused on the warfighter, and its theme is “America’s Response Force: Ready Today, Ready Tomorrow.”

Roberson: Army Must Prioritize Partnerships

As the U.S. enters a new era of global conflict, it must continue to invest in vital security cooperation partnerships, a senior Army leader said during the recent 2022 Strategic Landpower Symposium hosted by the Army War College.

Events in Ukraine are an example of how building security cooperation enables America’s partners and allies to fend off external threats, said Maj. Gen. Patrick Roberson, commander of the Army’s John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.

Retired Col. Roger Donlon, the first person in the Vietnam War and the first Green Beret to receive the Medal of Honor, is the subject of the latest graphic novel in the Association of the U.S. Army’s series on recipients of the nation’s highest valor award.

Medal of Honor: Roger Donlon tells of how then-Capt. Donlon disregarded multiple wounds and successfully led his 12-man Green Beret team as they held off an attack by a reinforced battalion of Viet Cong fighters in July 1964.

SOCOM Review Finds No ‘Systemic Ethics Problem’

A sweeping review of special operations troops, ordered after a series of high-profile cases of misconduct, found the force does not have a “systemic ethics problem,” the commander of U.S. Special Operations Command said.

However, almost two decades of sustained combat and not enough emphasis on leader and professional development have “impacted our culture in some troublesome ways,” Army Gen. Richard Clarke wrote in a Jan. 28 letter to the force.
