AUSA Accepting Applications for 44 Scholarships

The Association of the U.S. Army begins accepting applications March 7 for more than $340,000 in national scholarships in 2022, with 44 scholarships awarded by AUSA and three administered by the association in conjunction with the Army.

Applications will be accepted online until June 15. Those selected to receive an AUSA national scholarship will be notified by Oct. 15.

To be selected for any of the AUSA national scholarships, applicants must be active AUSA members.

Membership is not a prerequisite for the Army scholarships administered by AUSA.

AUSA Announces 2021 JROTC Scholarship Recipient

The winner of the 2021 Lt. Gen. Theodore G. Stroup Jr. Achievement Award is Alanis Hilario Serrano, a student at the University of Puerto Rico, the Association of the U.S. Army has announced.

Named for Stroup, a former AUSA vice president of education who is now an AUSA senior fellow, the program recognizes JROTC cadets for their achievements. It also aims to “engage the next generation of Soldiers and DoD stakeholders at a young age” and “promote their growth into mature members of the defense community,” according to AUSA.

The Association of the U.S. Army and four other military associations have received $100,000 from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation to provide scholarships for troops and their families.

The money will be used to offer oral health and wellness scholarships and certification support to service members, transitioning veterans and their family members.

Scholarships are being awarded to 47 AUSA members.

Two full-ride scholarships are awarded for Trident University, an accredited online institution offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees that gives credit for leadership and professional experience. Each scholarship is valued at $48,000.

The Association of the U.S. Army has extended the deadline to apply for its national scholarships until June 30 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

AUSA will award more than $325,000 in national scholarships this year. The majority will be awarded by AUSA, but some are administered by the association in conjunction with the Army.

To be selected for most of the AUSA national scholarships, applicants must be members of the association. Membership is not a prerequisite for the Army scholarships administered by AUSA.

The Association of the U.S. Army will begin accepting applications Feb. 1 to award at least $320,000 in national scholarships in 2020, with 48 scholarships awarded by AUSA and three administered by the association in conjunction with the Army.

This year, AUSA is adjusting the timing of its annual scholarship awards to align with the beginning of the fall semester at colleges and universities.

Applications will be accepted online from Feb. 1 until May 15. Those selected to receive AUSA national scholarships will be notified by Aug. 15.

There are only six weeks left to apply for more than $315,000 in Association of the U.S. Army scholarships.

This year, AUSA is offering 44 national-level scholarships that will be awarded this fall.

Applications, which in some cases require submission of an essay, letters of recommendation and a biography, are due by July 31. Scholarship recipients will be notified by November.

More than $315,000 will be provided in scholarships aimed at providing financial assistance for students enrolled in college-level institutions and other professional programs.
