The Association of the United States Army, St. Louis Gateway Chapter is pleased to announce the availability of merit scholarships. The Chapter typically awards fifteen to twenty-five scholarships that range from $250.00 to $3,000.00. In order to be eligible, a student must be in one of the following categories:
1. HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
- A parent who is currently a member of any Active, Guard or Reserve component of the U.S. Army
- A parent who served in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard or Army Reserve, i.e. an Army Veteran
- A parent who currently works for an Army defense contractor or an Army defense agency.
- A parent who is a member in good standing of the Association of the United States Army – St. Louis Gateway Chapter.
- The student is in a High School Army JROTC program.
2. ARMY PERSONNEL OR SPOUSES ATTENDING COLLEGE
- Active Army personnel.
- Army National Guard, Army Reserve and Army ROTC Students.
- A spouse of an Active Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve Soldier or Army ROTC student
These scholarships recognize a student’s academic excellence, leadership achievements and community service. Eligibility is limited to those students who reside in the Missouri counties of St. Louis (City and County), Jefferson, Warren, Franklin, St. Charles and Lincoln and the Illinois counties of Calhoun, Jersey, Madison, St. Clair and Monroe.

First time college bound high school students (Category 1)
1. Completed scholarship application (via Scholarship Central link above)
2. Admission letter from a college, university or institution of higher learning
3. Official academic transcripts – please indicate if the school is on a 4.0 or 5.0 scale
4. Optional: Copy of post-secondary admission test score, e.g. ACT, SAT (if taken)
5. List of extracurricular activities and community service
6. Recommendations – two letters from a non-family member (one must be from a teacher)
7. Essay (400 – 600 words) as prompted in the application
Army personnel attending college (Category 2)
