Here are some sample topics we have for our meeting programs:  Resiliency, Yellow Ribbon, PA Veterans benefits, Review of military deployments, Introduction to Stryker Brigade, 100th Anniversary of USAR, Army Birthday events, NG Birthday events, Family Support topics, Wounded Warrior projects, Military book author programs/signings, Developed a video of the WWII Artist for the FTIG Community club, Soldiers for Life topics, Corporate member highlights, Fisher House, NCO and Soldier programs sponsored by AUSA, Commemorations of conflicts such as Vietnam, Korean War, and WWI, Army Heritage and Education Center, Homeless Veterans projects.  Periodically we have update programs to tell us what is happening in the National Guard of PA, the Army National Guard and Fort Indiantown Gap.  

Typical programs and events:

  • Harrisburg Area Homeless Veterans Stand down
  • Leek Mountain hunting camp for disabled veterans — all-terrain vehicles transport disabled outdoors for hunting
  • Veterans’ memorials — 2BCT at Pennsylvania Military Museum, Silver Springs Township Veterans Memorial, Hampton Township Veterans Memorial
  • Noncommissioned Officer and Warrant Officer Candidate graduate awards
  • Army Heritage and Education Center
  • Institute of Land Warfare donations
  • Armed Forces Day (third Saturday of May) displays/information tables
  • OCS Staff Ride sponsorship for dinners and securing an interpreter guide
  • Fisher House, Lebanon VA Hospital, and other Veterans’ support programs
  • Celebrate the U.S. Army Birthday (June 14) at different locations each year,
  • Support to ROTC/JROTC awards programs

What kinds of projects are we planning for the future?

We are always looking for new members for our EXECUTIVE BOARD and to help with events and program ideas.  If you have any interest in the following areas, please contact someone and let us know what you would like to get involved in:

  • Retiree Seminars for NG and USAR similar to ACP/TAPS/Transition training
  • “Making Sense of Finance” Workshops
  • Support for Career Fairs and seminars
  • Young Professionals Networking and Program topics
  • Continue speaker series and book author presentations and signings
