Manor, Texas

COL (R) Christopher Hossfeld was the guest speaker at a Veterans Day Ceremony in Manor on 11 November 2023. Attending from the Texas Capital Area Chapter was Anthony Dennis, one of the chapter's Community Partners.

The event was also attended by Texas Representative Sheryl Cole, Travis County Commissioner for Precinct 1, Jeffrey W. Travillion Sr., Mayor Dr. Christopher Harvey, Manor City Council members, American Legion Auxiliary 331, Manor Police Department, and over 60 community members. 

COL Hossfeld recognized the veterans who were in attendance and provided a special recognition to the families of veterans in attendance as they also served their country by supporting their family members. His presentation was greatly enjoyed by everyone.

Remarks from Anthony Dennis:
"I have had the opportunity to plan and execute three Veterans Day Ceremonies for the City of Manor, Texas.  There was something different about this one. There was not only a focus on the Veterans, but also their family members. The focus was echoed in the opening remarks, from the proclamation read by Dr. Harvey, from Travis County Commissioner Jeffrey Travillions' remarks and from the guest speaker, Colonel Hossfeld.
The other interesting thing about this year's Veterans Day Ceremony is that the participants did not disperse after the event. They socialized, talked about their experiences and family members, exchanged contact information and truly embodied the true meaning of community and patriotism."
