The Texas Capital Area Chapter was well represented at the 2023 AUSA Annual Conference with 11 chapter members in attendance. We participated in all IV Region events (breakfast and reception). We also co-hosted a reception with the Central Texas Chapter at the Match Box restaurant. Additionally, we were presented with the Best Chapter Award again this year for category 3. GEN Rainey, CG, Army Futures Command, BG Ulis, Deputy TAG-Army TXARNG, CSM Brian Hester, Army Futures Command, accompanied our chapter president, COL (Ret) Garry Patterson on stage to receive the Best Chapter Award. Our chapter president participated in the Regional President's training event, the chapter president and delegate training session, and visited several of our chapter's community partner and National partner exhibits during the conference. Our chapter leadership and members enjoyed the conference and look forward to next year.

On Tuesday evening, 10 October 2023, the Texas Capital Area Chapter and the Central Texas Chapter hosted a joint reception at the Match Box restaurant in Washington D.C. in support of the AUSA Annual Conference. We had approximately 125 guests attend the reception. Food and beverages were service and everyone had a great time. This event had been in the planning for more than six months and was the result of planning, coordinating and funding by each chapter. We were honored to have guests from III Corps & Ft. Cavazos, Army Futures Command, the Texas Army National Guard and senior representatives across various Army commands. We also had a number of retired senior officers and NCO's attend the reception. We also had a number of our community partners attend the reception. The food and beverages were outstanding and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to fellowship. Each chapter was able to coordinate community partner sponsorship for this event.

On 10 October during the AUSA Annual Conference our chapter co-sponsored the AUSA IV Region Reception which was held at the Morris American Bar. The event was well attended with approximately 175-200 guests. This event was honored to have representatives from III Corps & Fort Cavazos, Fort Bliss, all 12 chapters in the IV Region, and senior military and elected officials. It was a time for fellowship and networking and was most enjoyable time for our guest. The IV Region did a good job planning this event and all of the chapters in the IV Region provided support and and resources to make it a success.
