Dignity, Respect Are West Point Teaching Points

Eliminating sexual harassment and sexual violence at the U.S. Military Academy requires ongoing and dynamic efforts, Lt. Gen. Robert L. Caslen Jr. told Congress.

Caslen, superintendent of the West Point, N.Y., school since 2013, said he’s committed to having a command climate where everyone “is treated with dignity and respect” and he’s also committed “to developing leaders who will do the same with the platoons and companies they will command once they leave West Point.”

Veterans Get Guidance on Review of Records

The Defense Department is launching a campaign to make sure veterans know how to request a review of their military records, including discharges, as personnel policies change over time.

“I am proud of the Army leadership to leave no stone unturned by allowing soldiers to have their discharge cases reviewed,” said retired Sgt. Maj. of the Army Kenneth O. Preston, director of NCO and Soldier Programs for the Association of the U.S. Army.
