New Award Honors Army Spouses’ Service, Contributions
Amy Mingus, whose husband is retired Gen. James Mingus, the 39th Army vice chief of staff, is the first recipient of a new Army award that recognizes the lifetime achievements and contributions of Army spouses.
Named for one of the most influential spouses in Army history, the Julia Compton Moore Spouse Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Mingus on Feb. 6 at her husband’s retirement ceremony on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Virginia, according to an Army news release.
