This month MG Tom Carden, GA State Adjutant General, addressed the roles and responsibilities of the GA National Guard in response to the pandemic, protests, and violence. At the direction of the Governor, the GA National Guard serves in concert with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. This month we had Colonel Jim Clifford, Garrison Commander, providing his final Fort Gordon update for AUSA before he retires to become the North Augusta City Administrator. We have been fortunate to have Col Clifford, wife Hannah and family as a more permanent addition to our region.

The Greater Augusta-Fort Gordon AUSA Chapter's 2020 College Scholarship application is now open. The local chapter of AUSA is offering up to three $2,000 scholarships for Active Duty or Reserve Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine or direct family member (Spouse or child). The scholarship is to be used during the 2020-2021 academic year and the money can be used for Tuition, Fees, and Books!!
