What Is Our Mission?
Chapter Mission:
RIA AUSA, DoD's rock building readiness since 1862, supports its chapter region's Total Army family by educating and informing the public about the roles of America's Army, as well as supporting area military and veteran communities and their families.
Chapter Vision:
The RIA AUSA Chapter contributes to the larger AUSA voice by building and maintaining a robust membership base, promoting shared values and causes, and providing all-encompassing support, education and advocacy for our regional Total Army Family.
The Rock Island Arsenal – DoD’s Rock Since 1862
The Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) is an active US Army facility located on a 946-acre island in the Mississippi River. It is the nation’s largest government owned and operated arsenal. It serves as the headquarters for both Army Sustainment Command (ASC) and First Army, the oldest and longest established field army.
Another unique feature to RIA is the Joint Manufacturing & Technology Center (JMTC). With only three manufacturing arsenals in the Army this location serves as an important location to be the Army’s foundry. It is the DoD’s only fully integrated manufacturing facility as well.
Why Is Becoming an Individual or Corporate Member of RIA AUSA Chapter 5102 Important?
AUSA serves as the Army’s Professional Association and advocates on behalf of every person in the Total Army Family. We all need a voice and AUSA ensures that needs are heard. Most private citizens want to support Soldiers, veterans and their families but don’t know how. Individual membership is a great way to show your support and getting involved with our local Chapter in whatever way you have time for is always welcome. For those that are part of the Total Army Family, becoming a member of AUSA just makes sense. As your professional organization your membership demonstrates solidarity and commitment to all in the Total Army Family, including yourself. For corporate members, this is an excellent tax-deduction that supports our national defense. The Rock Island Arsenal Chapter #5102 was chartered in 1982 and continually demonstrates local community support through scholarships, donations and a variety of community events.
