RIA Chapter 5102 Scholarship Applications due on September 30th

The Chapter thanks the following community partners for their generosity in providing scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year:

* Race Director Joe Moreno/Freedom Run Scholarships - two $1000

* AM General Scholarship - $1000

* Russell Construction Scholarship - $1000

* Phillips Corporation, Federal Division Scholarship - $1000   (Open to Trades/Manufacturing-related education)

* Rock Island Arsenal Federal Credit Union Scholarship - $500

*  A-1 Morris Heating and Cooling Scholarship - $500

Applicant Directions:

Applicants may be awarded only one of the above scholarships. Only one scholarship application is required. If an applicant wishes to apply for the Phillips Corporation, Federal Division, $1000 scholarship, they must provide verification of enrollment in trades/manufacturing education.

The scholarship deadline is September 30, 2021; all applications must be postmarked by that date. Notification of award will be the last week in October.

Application Requirements:

-- Applicants must have a 2.5 or greater cumulative grade point average, or equivalent, on a 4-point scale, and be accepted by or enrolled as a part-time or full-time student in an accredited education institution, trade certification, or apprenticeship program at the time the scholarship is awarded.

-- In addition to the application, the packet must include:

--- A college OR high school transcript OR GED transcript.

--- A resume with the following headings in order including dates and position(s) held:

      a)  Work History

      b)  Extracurricular Activities

      c)  Honors and Awards,

      d)  Community Activities

--- An essay of 500 words maximum discussing:

     a)  Your future career goals

     b)  How you see the Rock Island Arsenal or America’s Army playing a vital role in our community or nation (choose one)

     c) How would you describe yourself to help the committee get to know you.

-- The completed application and all information above must be postmarked no later than September 30, 2021, and mailed to: Rock Island Arsenal Chapter of AUSA, P.O. Box 3276, Rock Island, IL 61201.
