Army Cadet Command PMS selections will begin this summer

The U.S. Army Cadet Command Professor of Military Science (PMS) Centralized Selection Board will convene at the Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Ky., Aug. 14 and 15.Selected officers can expect to report for duty before the start of the 2013-2014 academic year.Active duty and active Guard/Reserve lieutenant colonels and majors interested in being considered by the PMS Selection Board must possess a master’s or higher degree received no later than May 31,2012; have completed ILE/Command and General Staff College; have deployed in support of OEF/OIF/OND; have broad experience in command and staff positions; demonstrate moral attributes and personal traits to serve in a position of prestige in an academic environment; meet Army standards of military bearing and appearance (AR 600-9); and be able to serve a three-year tour.Each volunteer must be eligible to PCS for the summer of 2013.Officers should update their Officer Record Brief and DA photo, and ensure their undergraduate and graduate transcripts are in their Official Military Personnel File no later than June 1, 2012.Officers meeting these qualifications must provide their branch assignment officers a preference sheet not later than May 31, 2012 to begin the PMS board process.Officers may download the FY12 PMS board preference sheet from the Cadet Command website: http://www.rotc.usacc.army.mil/pms_info.html.A list of projected summer 2013 PMS vacancies is also available at the Cadet Command website.
