The Army Futures Command set up a celebratory cake cutting ceremony at the Texas Capitol Building in Austin, Texas to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 248th Birthday. An excited crowd was in attendance with special remarks from Texas Senator Brian Birdwell, GEN James E. Rainey, Commanding General, Army Futures Command, and CSM Brian A. Hester, Command Sergeant Major, Army Futures Command. 

COL (Ret) Christopher Doneski, VP for Industry Outreach with the AUSA Texas Capital Area Chapter attended this awesome ceremony. Other executive committee members attended this ceremony since the chapter president, COL (Ret) Garry Patterson, was conducting a general membership meeting and USA 248th Birthday celebration at Camp Mabry with the Texas Army National Guard at the same time. 

It was great to show the City of Austin and State of Texas that the US Army has such an important command in the city.
