The Texas Capital Area Chapter hosted a general membership meeting at Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas on 06 September 2023. 

Our guest speaker was LTC (Ret) Brian Stevens, the Deputy Construction and Facilities Management Officer and Director of Plans, Programs and Innovation for the TXARNG. Brian spoke to our chapter about the amazing innovative project that the TXARNG has conducted in the past two years and plans for future energy related projects. LTC Stevens spoke about various energy and water resilience projects of the TXARNG. He highlighted the 3D printing and construction of a barrack at Camp Swift and the new training and administrative building being constructed using 3D printing technology at Camp Mabry. Additionally, he spoke about micro-grids, smart water grids, energy conservation, carbon-less generation and energy, storage activities and other projects to make many of the Texas Army National Guard facilities energy independent in times of crisis. 

Our meeting was attended by soldiers from the Texas Army National Guard. We also had a number of our retired military chapter members and interested civilian members in attendance. During the meeting our Chapter President, Garry Patterson informed the chapter of our selection as Category III Best Chapter for 2023. He also recognized our Community Partners and distinguished guests attending the meeting. The chapter also conducted a membership drive and manned a membership information table at this chapter meeting.
