Everyone in the measurement business claims they are "The Leaders" in the industry, but no one can claim they are the true pioneers in reflectorless measurement.  Our history speaks for itself.  LTI started working with the US government over 29 years ago by designing lasers that measured distances between 2 planes in-flight for a de-icing exercise. We then won a contract with NASA to build a custom laser that could measure both distances and speeds for space docking missions.

After that, we partnered up with Bushnell Optics and designed the first low-cost recreational rangefinder for golfing and hunting. We even developed the first commercial laser speed enforcement tool for the law enforcement community. Our first professional measurement device was a hand-held reflectorless total station that eventually began the GPS laser offset craze. LTI has been awarded 50 patents for our innovative technology and have additional applications pending. Add that to our 18 International patents, and you can see how we are constantly breaking new ground in laser measurement.  

Laser Technology Inc. (LTI) is a company devoted to the design and manufacture of innovative laser-based speed and distance measurement instruments, using ISO compliant and continuous improvement techniques. We maintain an intense focus on providing laser measurement technologies which address real world needs and applications, including speed enforcement, accident investigation, forestry, mining, military, utilities and surveying, to name just a few.

Laser Technology products calculate distance by measuring the time of flight of very short pulses of infrared light. This differs from the traditional surveying instrument method of measuring phase shifts by comparing the incoming wavelength with the phase of the outgoing light.

Our lasers are completely eye safe, meeting FDA Class 1 specifications. The radiated light power of our lasers is on the order of 50 microwatts, or approximately one twentieth the light power of a typical TV remote control.

 In 1986, LTI released a first of its kind laser measurement product named the Hydro 1. This product measured the underwater mapping for shipping channels and was used by the Army Corp of Engineers for the underwater mapping operations. This was also the first laser measurement product created by Laser Technology

In 1987, the Government asked LTI to create the LMDS, which was used for inflight distances between planes so it could be used for de-icing training and refueling.

This year, LTI will release the TruPulse Tactical, an all-in-one ballistics solution, for SWAT and law enforcement sharpshooters. The TruPulse Tactical LRF replaces up to 4 devices to provide a quick and accurate ballistic solution. Edit, store and access up to 5 weapon and cartridge combinations saved in the laser's on-board firmware. Combine that with the measured environmental barometric pressure, temperature, range and tilt data from the laser to get a calculated ballistic holdover (BDC, MOA, MIL, IN) result right in the scope.
