Military Appreciation Weekend – University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH) Chargers Hockey

*            Location:  VBC, Propst Arena

*            Purpose:  Celebrate our military, civil servants, veterans and their families

*            Sponsored by Huntsville-Redstone Association of the US Army (AUSA) Chapter (Title Sponsor) $2000

*            900 free tickets per game (1800 total) provided to Redstone Arsenal so that Soldiers (Active, Reserve, ANG, Veterans and Retirees), Civil Servants, and their Families

*            Friday Night VIP is MG Neil Thurgood, Director of Test, Missile Defense Agency

*            Saturday Night VIP is CSM Rodger Mansker, Army Material Command

*            VIPs dropped the ceremonial first puck and made brief welcome remarks

*            Friday Night included a mass swearing in ceremony for Thirty-Two (32) future Soldiers led by MG Thurgood. This event was spearheaded by CPT Anthony Dowdell, Commander, Huntsville Recruiting Company and AUSA Board Member
