Maj. Gen. Rich Longo, USA Ret., served 34 years in the Army before retiring in 2014 as deputy commander of U.S. Army Europe. During his career, he commanded an artillery battalion at Fort Sill, Okla., a division artillery in Iraq and an interagency task force in Afghanistan.
