Col. Joe D. Bookard is the seventh director of the U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He has commanded U.S. Army formations at every level from field artillery battery through brigade, including the 428th Field Artillery Brigade, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He is a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan.
