A new digital tool known as “EFMP & Me” is now available to help military families with special needs get personalized assistance and access to the information and resources they need.

“The Department of Defense is committed to supporting our families with special needs, and EFMP & Me is an important enhancement to the Exceptional Family Member Program,” Kim Joiner, deputy assistant secretary of defense for military community and family policy, said in a statement.

EFMP & Me—accessible on computers and mobile devices—is designed to connect families with customized checklists, information and resources as part of DoD’s Exceptional Family Member Program.

Through partnerships with military and civilian agencies, the EFMP provides services to military families with special needs, such as support services, housing and medical services.

Families can learn about these services, prepare for a move or respond to changes in education or medical needs by going to the EFMP & Me website, answering a few questions and selecting the types of information they want.

The new tool, created by DoD’s Office of Special Needs and Military OneSource, “provides virtual access to EFMP support services for all stages of their military lives,” Joiner said.
