Registration is now open for a special Association of the U.S. Army event featuring Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville.

Called “Coffee with the Chief,” the March 8 event will be held at the National Museum of the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. It replaces AUSA’s traditional January breakfast with the Army chief of staff.

This new in-person event will open at 6:30 a.m., with McConville expected to speak shortly after 7 a.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the museum after the event.

All attendees must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and wear a mask except while eating or drinking.

The event is free for military or government civilian personnel and members of the media. For other attendees, click here for more information.

Those who are interested in attending are encouraged to register early, as the event is expected to be sold out.

During the event, McConville is expected to talk about his priorities for the coming year.

Since becoming the Army’s top general officer in August 2019, McConville has pushed for a sweeping modernization effort focused on transforming the force for the future. He also has prioritized the Army’s people—soldiers, civilian employees, family members and veterans—as the force works to better manage the talent in its ranks and take care of soldiers and families.

“This has been a uniquely challenging time for the Army, but each challenge and each crisis has only made us stronger,” McConville said late last year. “We have never wavered on our priorities.”
