February Podcasts Highlight Army Greens, AI Advances

The Association of the U.S. Army is releasing four new podcast episodes in February, including an interview with Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Grinston and a closer look at the Army’s work in artificial intelligence.

The first February episode in the “Army Matters” series will feature Grinston discussing topics such as the “This is My Squad” initiative, quality of life in the barracks, the new Army Combat Fitness Test, and the latest on the rollout of the new Army Greens uniform. The episode is available Feb. 3.

On Feb. 10, the podcast will showcase interviews with members from each component of the Total Army to highlight the array of people and positions that make up the force. Guests include Command Sgt. Maj. Ted Copeland, the senior enlisted soldier for the U.S. Army Reserve, and Erin Thede, an Army civilian and Chief of Staff of the Army Senior Fellow at the Institute for Defense Analyses.

Next up is an interview with Belinda Hernandez, an assistant professor of health promotion and behavioral sciences at the University of Texas who is working on a project that studies the impact on children whose mother is also a military caregiver. The episode will be available Feb. 17.

The next podcast, available Feb. 24, will feature an interview with Brig. Gen. Matt Easley, director of the Army Artificial Intelligence Task Force. The discussion will include the Army’s AI strategy and the ethics of integrating AI into modern warfare.
