Air Force JROTC Supports Military Tribute Night at Toyota Field
On 9 September 2023, 40 cadets of Bob Jones High Schools Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) gathered together at Toyota Field in Huntsville for a special duty - presenting the United States flag at the USA Patriots vs AUSA Softball game. This momentous occasion was part of the 4th annual Military Tribute Night, hosted by the Association of the U.S. Army.
With precision and pride, the AFJROTC cadets were escorted onto the center field, joining in a moving presentation on the jumbotron during the singing of the National Anthem. Bob Jones High School AFJROTC Honor Guard impeccably presented the nation’s Colors, while the cadets on the field proudly unfurled the 50’x100’ U.S. flag. Once this duty was fulfilled, the cadets departed the center field, allowing the eagerly anticipated game to commence. Most cadets chose to stay for the entirety of the match, enjoying the excitement of the game and the camaraderie shared among fellow cadets.
Bob Jones Air Force JROTC has a special relationship with AUSA Redstone-Huntsville Chapter. The two organizations work extremely well together, and the cadre and cadets of AFJROTC are always proud to volunteer for community service requests from AUSA. The Redstone-Huntsville chapter provides great support to not only Bob Jones High School JROTC unit, but all local JROTC units in the Tennessee Valley. Without their unwavering support, ceremonies, awards, sponsorships, and other opportunities would be missed. Bob Jones High School Air Force JROTC salutes AUSA and thanks them for this awesome opportunity to serve!
