APRIL 19, 2024—During a visit to Fort Leonard Wood this week, Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael R. Weimer and U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Com. Sgt. Maj. Raymond S. Harris joined senior leaders from the installation and community leaders for a social hosted by AUSA Fort Leonard Wood Mid-Missouri.
The social was an opportunity for engagement and to show how the community across the region show support for Soldiers and families on Fort Leonard Wood. Com. Sgt. Maj. Ret. Rick Morris, representing as the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army Missouri South and Com. Sgt. Maj. Ret. Freddie Brock, AUSA Chapter President, introduced SMA Weimer. The support shown at this event and to Fort Leonard Wood, Weimer said, is special. He encouraged everyone in the room to keep telling our story and show our pride of Mid-Missouri.
During his time in front of attendees who ranged from command teams to currently serving Soldiers, to families, and community members, Weimer offered time for questions. This unique period provided answers to questions from the strategic level of the Army regarding current issues being faced by service members and families as well as new recruits.
AUSA Fort Leonard Wood Mid-Missouri prioritizes presenting leaders on and off Fort Leonard Wood with opportunities to meet, engage, and enhance their knowledge and network throughout the region. The Chapter will continue to highlight Fort Leonard Wood and the surrounding communities through these professional development connections.
