2022 Chapter Dinner

Our Chapter Dinner was held Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Our guest speaker for the evening was, General Robert B. Brown, U.S. Army Retired and President and CEO of AUSA National. We hosted over 150 community and Fort Leonard Wood leaders as well as Service Members and families.

To all those who attended: we appreciate your support and engagement in our work serving Service Members and communities across the region.

Chapter Scholarship Applications Now Open

The Fort Leonard Wood Mid-Missouri Chapter is offering four $500.00 one-time scholarships. Applications are due by March 31, 2022.

Guidelines:

  • Applicants must be a member, spouse, or child of a member of our AUSA Chapter;
  • Applicants must be accepted into a technical school, a 2 year or 4 year college/university accredited program;
  • Applicants may be pursuing any area of study.

Military Appreciation Night with the St. Louis Cardinals

Coming together is a start, working together is a success-a sentiment common in both baseball and in the military.

On September 11, 2021, the Fort Leonard Wood Mid-Missouri Chapter teamed up with the St. Louis Chapter to sponsor Military Appreciation Night at the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game. This was the 27th annual event with the Cardinals; missing only for 2020.

Community Partner Social

The Chapter hosted a Summer Social at the Hampton Inn St Robert/Fort Leonard Wood last night. We invited Community Partners and Fort Leonard Wood leadership to enjoy an evening of fellowship and to learn more about what the Chapter offers.

Fort Leonard Wood Celebrates the Army's 246th Birthday

Fort Leonard Wood leadership, soldiers, and families celebrated the Army's birthday last week. On the installation, the Army Birthday run had an incredible turn out with a cake, sponsored by the Fort Leonard Wood Mid-Missouri AUSA Chapter, cut following. 

Later that day, the Chapter also celebrated the Army birthday with the Missouri Veterans Home in Saint James, Missouri. Chapter members delivered cupcakes to residents, decorated the sidewalks with chalk, and had volunteers play patriotic music that was broadcast inside the building for residents and staff to enjoy. 

Chapter Announces 2021 Golf Tournament

The Fort Leonard Wood Mid-Missouri Chapter is excited to announce their golf tournament scheduled for August 13, 2021. After a challenging year of restrictions and virtual gatherings, the Chapter's goal is to encourage the local community and its leaders to take this opportunity to interact with Fort Leonard Wood Soldiers and Leadership on the installation.

New Chapter Secretary

May 11, 2021—The AUSA Fort Leonard Wood Mid Missouri Chapter has named a new Chapter Executive Secretary for the organization. 

Merle Jones CSM (R), President of the Chapter, announced Brittany Raines will serve in the position. He stated Raines has previously been active with AUSA in Fort Drum, New York and is skilled to take on the role. Mrs. Raines will be replacing Mrs. Melissa Anderson who has successfully served in the position since last fall.
