Chapter President Introduces AUSA to Georgetown Chamber of Commerce
Chapter president, COL (Ret) Garry D. Patterson, made a presentation to the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, Military/Veterans Affairs committee at the chamber offices in Georgetown, Texas. Our chapter immediate past president, MG (Ret) Robert L. Halverson, is chairman of this committee and requested that COL Patterson provide an informational presentation to the committee regarding the Association of the US Army and benefits of membership in the Texas Capital Area Chapter.
COL Patterson provided information to a group of approximately 30 chamber members and left applications for individual and community partner memberships. The group was happy to learn more about AUSA and the Texas Capital Area Chapter. Our chapter picked up three new community partners from this meeting. Several individuals plan to attend our 249th US Army Birthday celebration on June 5, 2024. Additionally, our chapter plans to work with several military services/support organizations who attended the meeting. Of special interest is the Rotary Foundation of Georgetown which supports the Field of Honor tribute to service members from Williamson County. The meeting was most successful in sharing information about AUSA to assist meeting our goals of "Educate", 'Inform", and "Connect" the community with the US Army
