On 5 April 2023, the Texas Capital Area Chapter, conducted its April General Membership Meeting. This meeting was held at Camp Mabry, Austin, TX. We were honored to have LTG Richard "Ross" Coffman, Deputy Commanding General, Army Futures Command as our guest speaker. General Coffman presented a most informative presentation on the current mission and activities of Army Futures Command. He also conducted an exceptional Question & Answer period after his formal presentation. The meeting was attended by several soldiers from Army Futures Command as well as soldier and officers of the Texas Army National Guard. We were delighted to have approximately a dozen of our Community Partner members attending this meeting. 

During the meeting our Chapter President, COL (Ret) Garry Patterson provided an update on chapter activities and presented a number of awards to Community Partners and members of the executive committee. A membership campaign was announced by our chapter president and we manned a membership table. As a result we gained 10 new members to our chapter. We have added 220 new Basic Members to our chapter since January 2023. 

COL (Ret)Patterson made a special award presentation for excellence in membership recruiting to our Chapter. A special certificate of excellence and chapter coin was presented to CSM Michelle L. Thompson, the CSM for the Texas Army National Guard. Since December 2022, CSM Thompson has recruited 210 new Basic members to the Texas Capital Area Chapter. Her efforts have been instrumental in the success of our chapter's growth in new members.

Our chapter president also presented certificates for sponsorship to the following Community Partners for 2023: Northrop Grumman Corporation, IBM Consulting Austin, The Boeing Company-Austin, Deloitte Consulting-Austin, and e-Medical Systems, Inc. This group of community partners have aided our chapter in providing financial support to units of the Texas Army National Guard and Army Futures Command.
