AUSA chapter members, guests, and local area veterans are cordially invited to the Association of the United States Army, Texas Capital Area Chapter general membership meeting on 4 June 2025. Our guest speaker will be MG John “Brad” Bowlin, Commanding General, 36th Infantry Division, TXARNG.  We will be celebrating the US Army’s 250th Birthday.

Major General John “Brad” Bowlin is the 22nd Commanding General of the 36th Infantry Division. MG Bowlin enlisted in the Army in 1987 as a Cavalry Scout where he served with the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, KS and the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Garry Owen, Korea. He was accessed into the Tennessee Army National Guard Troop F/2/278 ACR in 1990 and received his commission as an Armor Officer in 1992 through the Officer Candidate Course.

MG Bowlin deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Other overseas service includes service in Germany, Korea, Bulgaria, and Central Africa.  MG Bowlin’s awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Iraq Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, Tennessee Distinguished Serve Medal, Combat Action Badge, the Silver Order of Saint George, and the Order of Saint Maurice.
