Lighter, More Lethal Command Posts in Works
The Army is deep into a mission to create new types of tactical command posts that are as mobile, flexible and expeditionary as the soldiers who serve under them.
Today, a command post might include four laptops linked by video cables through a 200-pound transit case to three large screens, said Tyler Barton, project lead for the expeditionary command post capability program in the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.
