AUSA Becomes Sole Lead Sponsor of Army Ten-Miler

The Association of the U.S. Army is now the sole lead sponsor for the Army Ten-Miler as the race prepares to mark its 40th anniversary Oct. 13 in Washington, D.C.

Priority registration for the race is now open, and general registration opens at 8 a.m. Eastern Feb. 7.

The Army Ten-Miler is the world’s third largest 10-mile race, and this year it is set to return to its full capacity of 36,000 in-person runners. All race proceeds benefit Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs.

Priority registration for the 2023 Army Ten-Miler opens March 1, with general registration and virtual race registration to follow March 8, race officials announced.

The 39th annual race will be conducted by the Army Military District of Washington Oct. 8 in Arlington, Virginia. The third largest 10-mile road race in the world, the Army Ten-Miler takes place one day before the start of the Association of the U.S. Army’s Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C.

AUSA is a founding and co-lead sponsor of the race.

Runners have another chance to sign up for the 2022 Army Ten-Miler.

General registration has reopened for the Oct. 9 race in Arlington, Virginia, with a limited number of slots available, race organizers announced.

“The additional in-person slots are open and available to individuals and teams on a first-come, first-service basis,” they said. 

Individual registration is $89 and includes an official long-sleeve race shirt.

Priority registration for the 2022 Army Ten-Miler opens May 11, with general registration to follow May 25, race officials announced.

Scheduled for Oct. 9 in Arlington, Virginia, “the Army’s 38th annual race will return to in-person running” after going virtual in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, race officials said in a statement. The race will take place one day before the start of the Association of the U.S. Army’s Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C.

AUSA is a founding and co-lead sponsor of the race.

In-Person Army Ten-Miler Canceled, Race Goes Virtual

This year’s Army Ten-Miler race will no longer be an in-person event and instead will take place virtually, the Army Military District of Washington announced Sept. 13.

Due to “rising COVID-19 case rates and the addition of the Delta variant,” race officials determined that an in-person event presented too many risks to staff, participants and spectators, officials said.

The Army Ten-Miler will open priority registration for an in-person race on or about June 30, race officials announced.

Currently, registration is open for a virtual race, held between Oct. 10–25. The in-person race is slated for Oct. 10, one day before the Association of the U.S. Army’s 2021 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C.

AUSA is a founding and co-lead sponsor of the race.

Awards Ceremony to Recognize Army Ten-Miler Winners

The Army Ten-Miler will hold its first virtual awards ceremony to recognize the running accomplishments of individuals, teams, units, corporations and more from the 36th annual edition of the Army’s race.

The live broadcast, which will feature senior Army leaders and race sponsors, begins at 7 p.m. Eastern Dec. 2. It can be viewed at www.armytenmiler.com.

Registration for the Army Ten-Miler has been postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 36th annual race is scheduled for Oct. 11.

Priority and general registration for the race was scheduled for May 6 and May 20, respectively, race organizers announced. New registration dates will be announced when conditions allow.
