Southern Virginia AUSA Chapter Hosts Army–Navy Game Watch Party
Fort Gregg-Adams, Va. — December 14, 2024
The Southern Virginia Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), in partnership with First Command, brought Soldiers, veterans, families, and community supporters together on Saturday for a spirited Army–Navy Game watch party aimed at strengthening connections and growing chapter membership.
Held locally with an energetic turnout of approximately 25–40 guests throughout the event, the gathering blended football tradition with professional outreach. Attendees enjoyed food, camaraderie, and the chance to celebrate one of the oldest rivalries in college sports.
At the end of each quarter, chapter leaders took time to speak with guests about AUSA’s mission, the chapter’s role in supporting Soldiers and their families, and the benefits of becoming a member. These brief sessions provided an opportunity to highlight ongoing programs, upcoming events, and ways the community can get involved.
The event was designed not only as a social gathering, but as a platform to introduce new people to the chapter’s work and encourage future participation. Chapter representatives said the response from attendees was extremely positive, with many expressing interest in learning more about AUSA initiatives and volunteer opportunities.
The Southern Virginia Chapter plans to continue hosting similar engagement events throughout the year as part of its effort to expand outreach and build a stronger network of supporters for the Army community.
