This past Friday, June 14, 2024, we celebrated the 249th Birthday of the United States Army. It is not only the oldest but also the largest branch in the US Military. At this celebration, Governor McKee signed a proclamation to formally recognize this day here in RI each year moving forward.

We would like to thank Dennis Morgan for initiating and organizing this wonderful event. We would also like to thank the Director of Veteran's Affairs, Kasim Yarn, for all of his help and guidance and of course Governor McKee for signing this proclamation, and allowing us to have this event in the State Reception room at our beautiful State House.

Special thanks also goes to our Color Guard, the 88th Army Band, Tim Boursin, Chaplain, all of our speakers, State Representative Samuel A. Azzinaro, RI Adjutant General, MG Christopher Callahan, BG Andrew Chevalier, Army Reserve, COL Christian Neary, Army Reserve, US Army, CPT Roushen Thompson, Commander, RI Army Recruiting Company Command, our entire AUSA Executive Committee, and all who attended this celebration.
