AUSA Support for Veterans

AUSA not only supports our active duty Army, Reserve and National Guard and DA Civilians, but our veterans as well, whose service has kept our nation free for almost 250 years.

We celebrated National Vietnam Veterans Day on the 29th of March to honor the 58,220 who were killed in Action and the  overall 2,709,918 who served in the Vietnam War. One thousand, six hundred and forty three are still missing in action.  March 29th was chosen because on March 29th 1973 Military Assistance Command was disbanded and the last combat troops departed the Republic of Vietnam.

As a combat disabled Vietnam veteran I remember Vietnam all too well and am proud to have served as a company commander of soldiers in combat.

National Vietnam Veterans Day was observed this year to thank and honor our nation's Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.  The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington memorializes those who lost their lives in the war. According to the National Archives, There were 58,220 killed in the war and 1,582 still missing in action.  Vietnam Veterans are grateful for this recognition.

All gave some and some gave all.
