Richard J. Rinaldo

Richard J. Rinaldo, Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army Retired, is currently a Senior Military Analyst with Alion Science and Technology, Inc. He is also a professor at American Military University and a military consultant to the Distance Education and Training Council. Prior to that he served as a Department of the Army civilian at U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. Highlights of his active duty career include service as Deputy Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Southern Command, as Assistant Professor of Military Science at Hofstra University, where he taught military history, and as a rifle company commander in Vietnam. A 1963 graduate of Fordham University, he later earned a masterís degree and professional diploma in Education from Hofstra University. He is also a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses; Airborne School; Defense Information School; National Defense University, National Security Management; Foreign Service Institute, Latin America Area Studies; and United States Military Academy, History of the Military Art.
