Major General Glaser was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1985 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. He holds a Masters Degree in Comptrollership from Syracuse University. His military education includes the Military Police Officer Basic and Advance Courses, the Command and General Staff College, the Joint and Combined Warfighting School and the Senior Service College Fellowship – Center for New American Security.

His principal staff assignments have been as the Executive Officer, 25th Military Police Battalion, later Executive Officer, U.S. Army Military Police Brigade-Hawaii, 25th Infantry Division (Light) Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Chief, Military Police Branch, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Alexandria, Virginia; Deputy Operations Officer, G-3, I Corps, Fort Lewis, Washington; Deputy Provost Marshal General, Office of the Provost Marshal General, Washington, DC; Deputy Director, Ministry of Interior Advisory Group, Combined Security Transition Command - Afghanistan, International Security Assistance Force (OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, Afghanistan); and Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Central, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.

He commanded the 570th Military Police Company, 95th Military Police Battalion, 21st Theater Army Area Command, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, FRG; 519th Military Police Battalion, Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana, and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, Iraq; 42nd Military Police Brigade, I Corps, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, Iraq; Commanding General, U.S. Army Corrections Command; Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.

Major General Glaser's awards include the Army Distinguished Service Medal, the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge and the Army Staff Identification Badge. He is a recipient of the MP Regimental Association's Order of the Marechaussee (Silver), the Infantry Order of Saint Michael and the Cavalry Community Combat Spurs. He is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the American Correctional Association.
