Mark H. Gerner

Mark H. Gerner is a principal at Calibre Systems, Inc., Alexandria, Virginia. Prior to his retirement from the Army as a colonel in 2000, his assignments included Chief of Force Development and Plans for Eighth U.S. Army, Korea and Chief of Force Integration and Management, Headquarters, Department of the Army. He has managed a series of projects including Force Requirements for Combatant Commands, Army Global Force Posture, and Strategic Planning for the Office of the Chief of the Army Reserve. Commissioned in the Infantry from the U.S. Military Academy in 1973, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. He graduated from the Army War College in 1994. He has written several articles for professional journals and is the author of Climbing Back, a book about his experiences with cancer.
