Maj. Timothy Meadors deployed to Zabul Province, Afghanistan, as the battalion S-3 for 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. The battalion was assigned the security force assistance mission and partnered with both the Afghan army and Afghan police in the province. Meadors has deployed to Iraq three times and to Afghanistan once.
