Maj. Joel M. Machak is the division transportation officer for the 7th Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. His overseas deployments include Iraq and Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and master’s degrees from Troy University and the University of Kansas.
