Maj. Gen. Leslie M. Burger, USA Ret., served in the Army for more than 32 years. His last assignment was as the commanding general, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the North Atlantic Regional Medical Command. He then served in the Veterans Health Administration, first as the chief medical officer and then as the network director for Veterans Integrated Service Network 21. For the past eight years, he has served on the Washington State Medical Board.
