Maj. Gen. Judd H. Lyons, Acting Director, Army National Guard

Maj. Gen. Judd H. Lyons was named deputy director of the Army National Guard in July 2013 and became acting director of the Army National Guard in January. Previously, he served as the Adjutant General, Nebraska, and director of the Nebraska Military Department and the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. He has served in a variety of command and staff positions in the Nebraska Army National Guard, deploying to Afghanistan as commander, 209th Regional Security Assistance Command, Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix V, in 2006–07. Lyons was commissioned in 1983 as a graduate of the Nebraska National Guard Military Academy. His military education includes attendance at the U.S. Army War College; Joint and Combined Warfighting School, Norfolk, Virginia; Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government; and the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
