Jean Vettel is the inaugural chief scientist for the Futures and Concepts Center, Fort Eustis, Virginia, a position provided by the Combat Capabilities Development Command. She has been a civilian neuroscientist for the Army for the past 10 years. She has a doctorate in neuroscience from Brown University, Rhode Island, and holds academic appointments at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the University of Pennsylvania.
