Prior to his retirement from industry in 2015, Dick was the Vice President of Business Development supporting the Global Services Sector and Engineering Solutions Sector for NCI Information Systems, Inc.. He was responsible for supporting business development efforts within Defense Operations in each Sector. Prior to joining NCI, Dick was Vice President for Business Development at MicroTech, LLC and Assistant Vice President for Corporate Support with Alion Science and Technology. He also served as Senior Principal Leader-Business Development for Army Programs at Computer Sciences Corporation.
Dick retired from the United States Army in 1993 where he culminated his career as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Signal Corps (FA53, Systems Automation). His Army experience ranged from serving in command and staff positions in the 2nd Bn 37th Armor and First Armored Division DISCOM; G-3 Ops at Fifth US Army; C2 Directorate CACDA and later as the SGS, Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth to serving in the Admissions Office and later Office of the Director Intercollegiate Athletics at the United States Military Academy. He was Joint Staff Officer qualified in Command Control and Information Systems having served over seven years in three separate NATO commands with his last assignment within the Information Systems Division, SHAPE HQ, Belgium developing CCIS systems for the ACE Rapid Reaction Force. He is Airborne and Ranger Qualified (Winter).
Retiring to Hampton Virginia, Dick served as the Chapter President for the Virginia Peninsula-General Douglas MacArthur Chapter AUSA for six years and also later served as the Chapter Treasurer for eight years. He is currently the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Directors, Chapter Operations Committee for AUSA National Headquarters as well as the Executive Vice President and Vice President for the Community Partner Memberships for the George Washington Chapter. He also serves as the tournament Director of the annual George Washington Chapter Educational Scholarship Tournament and supports the Chapter’s social media resources.
Dick holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California (1985); Master of Business Administration degree from the Roth Graduate School of Business, CW Post Center, Long Island University (1981); and a BA in History and Military Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, TX (1970). He is a member of the Order of St Barbara and was awarded the Meritorious Public Service medal by General John Abrams in 2000 for his service.
