Dr. David C. Rasmussen

Dr. David C. Rasmussen, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, served as an infantry officer from 1988 to 2009. He did two tours in Afghanistan with the 10th Mountain Division. Rasmussen earned a master’s degree in national security affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2000, focusing his research on U.S.-Japan relations. In May 2018, he earned his PhD in political science from the City University of New York. His research focused on the effect of politics on the U.S. military. Rasmussen plans to teach undergraduate political science courses at Ashford University and the State University of New York at New Paltz beginning in spring 2019.
