Michael Clemens is the Director of Global Military Sales and Strategy and head of the Detroit office for Textron Systems. With is depth of knowledge in the Department of Defense and government, he partners and leads high level engagements with the United States Army focused on the modernization of ground combat vehicles.
Prior to joining the Textron Systems team, Mike worked for Army Futures Command’s Next Generation Combat Vehicles Cross Functional Team as a Highly Qualified Expert. His work directly impacted the Army’s ability to field two new ground combat vehicles and greatly contributed to the scope design of three other vehicle programs.
Mike served in the Army for 31 years in numerous leadership positions. Notably, he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Army’s Acquisition Corps, the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan and the U.S. Army’s Armor School.
During his military career, Mike deployed on numerous occasions for Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Iris Gold, Operation Intrinsic Action, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Resolute Support. Mike’s service was recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives of the 115th Congress. He also serves as the Honorary Sergeant Major of the 16th Cavalry Regiment and has been named a distinguished member of the 15th Cavalry Regiment, 73rd Armor Regiment and 505th and 508th Infantry Regiments.
His volunteer work includes serving as the President of the 2nd Armored Division Association, volunteering at Detroit’s John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. And leadership roles with the Walter Bruce VFW post 1146 and American Legion Grosse Pointe Post 303.
Mike resides in Grosse Pointe Woods Michigan, with his wife of 29 years Christy and his youngest daughter Veda.
